Dembele To PSG

OUSMANE Dembele has officially joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from Barcelona and signed a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions. This was disclosed by the two clubs, last weekend. Barcelona said they had agreed to sell Dembele to PSG for a fee of 50.4 million euros (around Rp. 846 billion).

The 26-year-old’s contract is due to expire in June 2024, despite having signed a new contract last year. “We are delighted to welcome to Paris St Germain Ousmane Dembele, who will be an important and committed player at our club,” said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

“We are proud to bring a French World Cup winner to Paris St Germain as we enter a great era for our club,” he continued. Dembele himself said he had joined his new club and hoped that he would continue to develop his career at PSG. “I am delighted to be joining Paris St Germain and can’t wait to play for my new club,” Dembele told PSG’s official website. “I hope to continue to develop here.”

Dembele started his professional career at Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais in the 2015-16 season before moving to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. His performances at Dortmund saw Dembele brought in by Barcelona for a transfer fee of 105 million euros in 2017.

Since then, Dembele has made 257 appearances and scored 60 goals in all competitions. He has also won three La Liga trophies and two Copa del Reys with the Catalan club. At international level, Dembele has made 37 appearances for the French national team and was part of Didier Deschamp’s squad that won the World Cup in 2018.

Dembele becomes PSG’s seventh new player in the transfer market this summer after the club brought in Marco Asensio, Milan Skriniar, Lee Kang. -in, Hugo Ekitike, Lucas Hernandez, and Manuel Ugarte.
