Elite TNI-Polri troops managed to seize the KKB Papua headquarters led by Numbuk Telenggen in Gome, Puncak Regency, Papua Mountains.
“It is true that currently the KKB headquarters in Gome is controlled by the TNI/Polri and various pieces of evidence have been secured from the crime scene (TKP),” said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Mathius Faakhiri in Jayapura, reported by Antaranews.com, Wednesday (16/8/2023).
Based on reports received, the KKB headquarters in Gome was controlled by the TNI-Polri starting with the shooting by KKB led by Numbuk Telenggen, Tuesday (15/8), from the Grumbul hill to the YR 300/Bjw mobile task force group who were going to Gome to attend a stone-burning event .
After receiving reports about the shooting, the joint security forces from Ilaga joined forces and gave chase. Apart from Gome, said the Inspector General of Police. Mathius Fahiri, KKB also set fire to the tower which is next to SMP 1 Ilaga.
In that incident, there were no casualties from TNI/Polri members. However, said the Kapolda, it was reported that three KKB members were injured by gunshots and managed to escape to the forest. The evidence secured included seven cellphones of various brands, cameras and sharp weapons.
“Currently the Kamtibmas situation in Ilaga and its surroundings is relatively conducive. However, the security forces are still on standby,” he concluded.
